No, some very beautiful people go through a goth phase; it's a mode of expression.
Hiding ugliness under the disguise of goth does sound interesting, though. I wonder if people who consider themselves ugly would actually go for this; their lack of self-esteem would probably hold them back, I should think.
Goth is confident, self-assured and wants to show the world 'they CAN'. that's my understanding, anyway.
I think it's cool; I wish I'd had the nerve when I was at the right age...

wow i don't know. i suppose some do become goth b/c they think that they are unattractive
