Has anyone done this? What was the experience like in detail? Does it hurt? How long is the process? Did u regret doing it?

I'm considering doing this. I'm 23 and I have 2 children of my own, and my tubes are now tied. I meet the requirement such as being a non smoker and having a college education. The reason I'm considering is because I have 2 aunts that aren't able to have children. I wouldn't be doing it for them personally, but I've seen how it effects them and it hits close to home. I want to help families in that situation.

I have not actually been an egg donor, I did however have an egg retrieval for invitro fertilization. I was knocked out with meds because I had a bad broncial infection and I was coughing too much. I was not really sore afterwards. Others that have had it done say that they do feel a little pain and some cramping. On the other side you would have to give yourself injections daily to produce many eggs, you would have to have a lot of ultrasounds to monitor the eggs/ovaries to make sure that you are responding to the medication well but not too well. You can become overstimulated, which in some cases may require medical attention. You are definitely young enough. I pretty sure that they have counseling for this before going through with it just because of all that is involved emotionally and physically. You also have to consider how you would feel about having children in the world that you may never know. This would also be something to discuss with your partner/husband. I think it is great that you want to help others. Just be sure it is someting that you can do right now.
