we should be able to love whomever we like without someone saying "You are mentally ill because you are in love, and I have non-existant evidence to prove that it's bad to love!!!" I'm paraphrasing.

Love is love.
It's only one's perception of such love that makes it right or wrong, and then only for the individual doing the viewing. One may find a certain type of flower lovely and of pleasant aroma; another may find it ugly and believe the aroma foul.

It's the same thing with gay or heteroxexual love; some find either or both beautiful, recognizing that love between two people, regardless of gender, a wonderful and magical thing. Others find that they cannot agree with either gay or heterosexual love, finding it unnatural. Gays may see heterosexual love as disgusting, and some heterosexuals feel the same about gay love.

Love whom you will with respect to your own beliefs. It is your beliefs you are responsible for; not another's. If you disagree with another's beliefs, you don't have to follow them; that's what religious freedom is about. Be thankful if you live in a country which affords you such.

Adhere to your religion, but don't presume that your beliefs are the ony ones worth following; there are many religions and legislating the morals of one over the others is simply contrary to the concept of religious freedom and tolerance.

I don't understand it though I have friends, male and female, who are what we call gay these days. I have no hangups with the idea nor do I feel threatened by people who have that preference. The only reason most people get hung up on it is because of religious brainwashing. I broke away from that a long time ago. If it's your thing, may the Creator smile on you.

Yes, please.

Details? I'm gay, and I know that love is the most wonderful thing in the world. I've had it before, and lost it, but I hope to meet someone one day who I can love for the rest of my life.

What I don't get is why is it when someone states their honest answer, they get thumbs down for it.

Hello! Not everyone is gonna agree with homosexuality (just like not everyone is gonna disagree), so get over it! Just because someone doesn't agree/disagree with it, doesn't mean they're a bad person. I personally, am against it, but that is my opinion. It's not a fact, and I'm not saying it's a fact either. So I think people just need to get over it.

By the way, this question gets a thumbs up for being unbiased.

I think we should be able to fall in love with whoever we want, regardless of gender. We cut ourselves off from so many beautiful minds by picking just one or the other. Find someone that you could enjoy living the rest of your life with and forget about the rest.

I think it's pretty cool I guess. I'm not gay and I could never be gay, so I really don't think being gay is a choice. I'm not gonna wake up one morning and say, "Wow, I could really use some gay loving today!" So yeah, I'm sure it's all right. I prefer my girlfriend though, our love is freakin sweet.

When you rip of the mask of gender, you're left with two people who love each other for who they are.

I don't care what politics says, or what the church says. Gays feel love like anyone else does, and that's all there is to it. That's all there should be too it.

Yes.

There's nothing to think about, it's a fact of life, just some people have more trouble realising that than others.

It's as genuine as straight love, so what's the problem here?
