It's a tautology.
Unique means 'there's only one of its kind', and individual means 'there's only one of its kind'.
Tautology is 'saying the same thing twice in the same sentence. Oops, that was tautology!

If your question is really- What is a unique individual as concerns helping a person who is learning disabled- then the answer is everyone you come in contact with to help is unique.
The point is that if you want to help a learning disabled person learn there is no predetermined way to do that and each and every person must be treated as an individual.
I am involved with selling dyslexia glasses that I claim remove any described visual problems that make it hard for a dyslexic to read at dyslexiaglasses.com so I will use dyslexics as an example.
If dyslexics are not considered unique then all should be helped in the same way.
I can't say my glasses help dyslexics because only about 1 in 4
have visual problems as their primary problem.
Many dyslexics have auditory problems that are helped by intensive phonics training. Some of those dyslexics have visual problems also.
Many dyslexics have brain structure differences that make processing words difficult and find it helpful to have multi-sensory training. Some of these dyslexics also have auditory problems also and some also have visual problems.
So you can see that even if you knew the learning disabled people you would deal with only had dyslexia there would be different problems or combinations of problems that would be unique to that dyslexic and need to use a unique progran for that person.
Now consider some dyslexics have ADD or ADHD or that some people with ADD are also dyslexic. And contrary to what is often said about dyslexics being of average or above intelligence the truth is that is only true if you say it about diagnosed dyslexics.
You could have a Down Syndrome person that also has dyslexia and or ADD.
If each learning disabled person is not considered unique then assumptions are being made that will limit the kind of help actually needed from being provided.
To look at it in reverse- if the person who needs help is not unique then they must fit into a known group that has a known way of being helped. Because each needs a unique type of help each is a unique individual.
I am glad that you are doing research on the subject because I feel strongly about what I said and feel that learning disabled people are often put into classifications that infer that someone already knows the right answer for him or her when the reality is that each and every one is unique.

ok usually the person who had a learning disability is slow and cant think on thir own, So therefore someone who is unique has their own special way of doing things and thinking for their own, they are unique individual, for example, If a person who is retarded slow, cant dress, But the other guy who is learning disabled has clothes matching and all together in their ideas they are called an unique person

i am not gettin this from any sources, it's just wht i think. i think that a unique individual is someone who is unlike others, someone who doesn't follow any trends, someone with different personality, not the predictable one, some one who might be considered as weird for being different(but they actually aren't weird) or considered as cool because they are different. that's what i think the definition for unique indidvidual is
