Well, if I was looking at the bookshelf from the side I would definitely judge the whole shelf by the bookends. But if I was looking at the bookshelf from the front, I likely wouldn't be able to avoid seeing the books, and would therefore judge the bookshelf by the book covers.

Yes. True book lover needs the space for books and will therefore use- a pile of books!

I'm more likely to pick up a book that has a pretty design on it or a cool title, but I often find that I like what I didn't think I would.....
