i dont think so,it is only responsible if he is in the car and you get in an accident.I think you are responsible personally,or maybe he is ,depends on who jacked the car up,and if you used jack stands, also what was he doing to the car?.

Your car insurance would have nothing to do with this type of accident. Your homeowners insurance (if you own) would, if the accident happened on your property. If this occurred at another persons house, their insurance could be liable. The main point is though, if you do not have a safe and stable set of jack stands, and you are inexperienced with this type of auto repair,
DON'T ATTEMPT IT!!!!!

How badly was your friend hurt? were you paying him to fix the brakes on your car? I don't know if your car insurance is responsible for sure but I think morally you would be responsible for his injuries since he was fixing your car for you.....think about it

I'm sorry to hear your friend got hurt, but I'm afraid he is SOL. Your insurance will not cover this due to his negligence. Insurance company's do not like to pay claims, and will prove your friend caused this to happen due to his negligence of not following proper safety procedures.
