War makes strange bedfellows. They were allies because they shared the same goal, the destruction of the USA. Without us, they could have dominated the world and split up the spoils of war.

Kinda like what's going on today.

Japan faced Great Brittan and the United States in the Pacific rim. Brittan was in Hong Kong and Singapore, the United States in small islands on the Pacific rim. To force out the two most powerful countries Japan needed to draw off their forces. If by joining Germany Japan could force the US and the UK to fight in Europe as well as Asia, both would have a smaller force to confront Japan. Secondly, Japan needed German technology. Though the Zero fighter was superior to anything owned by the allies, in all other areas, radar, radio, etc, Japan lagged badly behind. Germany had the technology Japan needed. Third, Hitler hated Russia and Stalin. For Japan to take China, they needed to keep Russia from attacking their flank, and a Russian German war would do that, (and did do that.) Germany was very far away, and who in Japan cared if Germans thought the Japanese were monkeys, when the war was over, Japan thought they would make monkeys out of the West, and very nearly did.

It's called political expediency. The Germans also had an alliance with the U.S.S.R. until they invaded them. And the two didn't act much like allies. Zhukov came to the attention of the Soviet leadership in his battles against the Japanese Manchurian army, but when the Germans invaded, was sent west with his troops. Without them, Moscow would have fallen. Had the Japanese renewed their push into Siberia at that time instead of choosing their southern strategy which brought them to Pearl Harbor, the war might have gone very differently.

Hitler did indeed view people of Asian descent as inferior. He also felt similarly about the Italians and some Eastern European countries who were his allies, but as they say, "The enemy of my enemy is my friend."

Don't forget that the Nazis had a "non-aggression pact" with the Soviet Union between 1939 and 1941. Had the war gotten that far, Hitler might well have "turned" on the Japanese, too.

BTW, WWII is over and you should find a better term for the Japanese.

The same reason that Hitler signed the non-aggression pact with his most bitterest rival, joe stalin in 1938.....it was a matter of convenience. I'm sure if hitler had defeated the allies, he would've eventually turned on Japan...

I really don't know. However, people make alliances beacause it would benefit each others countries in some way. Perhaps by joining forces with the Germans, Japan had better chances at conquering other countries.

Hitler and Japan shared an animosity against Russia. Japan was suppose to attack Russia and start a two front war.

Goebbels Hitler's minister for propaganda came up with a crackpot theory that the Japanese were actually descended from the Vikings and were therfore 'Aryan' Nobody believed it of course but it's true. ( That they said that, not the Japanese are vikings)

Read a little history.
The Nazi doctrine said that Hindu's were aryan you know. It had very little to do with the color of your skin or even of your eyes.
That's how a short, black haired, brown eyed austrian came to lead Germany in the 30's.
