You can have them just draw a cute card for people, with a "Merry Christmas" and a picture they draw themselves. I have had a lot of success with using a float frame and putting decorations and pictures inside. You can buy a float frame from the local framing store and they are relatively inexpensive. You can put ribbons inside, dried flowers, pictures, sayings etc. You could make little bookmarks with all of the above. Just use regular construction paper, decorate it and buy the sticky clear stuff that's like instant lamination (don't know the name..sorry) Just take a look around the craft store and see what you like. There's tons of stuff there! Good Luck!

Have them work with you to do "gifts in a jar". They can also decorate the jars. Use a decorative piece of Christmas fabric to cover the lid. we like to write the recipe neatly on a small piece of nice paper, roll it up like a scroll, tie with a ribbon, and attach to the jar.

mix applesauce with cinnamon to a thick paste and roll out thin and cut with cookie cutters, put a small hole in the top and string through for a fragrant ornament.

Ornaments are good. Do you have a local craft store? There are some reasonably priced simple ones you can make. Cookies are another suggestion.
