If the guy really loved you then he would wait until you were ready! I had a problem with a guy like that one time! He didn't break up with me, but he would quit talking to me for like a week and I still didn't give in! I miss this guy a lot too, but I am glad that I waited! I got tired of him getting mad at me so I broke it off with him! Now he cries after me and I won't give him the time of day! I think you should wait and you made a good decision by waiting!
