For part of their Christmas presents, I want to make my cousins compilation CDs of really very good legendary songs... I'm having trouble thinking of what to put on there! I'm putting 'Another Brick in The Wall' on, but I've got no more ideas. Any thoughts?

P.S. Nothing that remotely touches religion. I wanted to put 'Stairway to Heaven' on, but this is the fundamental Christian part of the family, so can't put that on! (Just trust me on this one ok?)

PPS. No swearwords, unless there's gonna be a radio edit or something. Theyre 5 and 8!

THANKS xxxx

I thinks you should be a rebel and put on the song from tenatious d - pick of destiny. Its track 1 of the soundtrack....

'a long *** fnck1ug time ago in a time called kick a pooh,
there lived a humble family, religious through and through,
but hay there was a black sheep, and he knew just what to do,
his name was young JP, and he refused to step inline,
a vision he did see'ith fnck1ng rocking all the time,
he wrote a tasty jam, and all the planets did aline'

no but seriously play 'I want to rock' and when you do picture jack black in Tenatious D singing that song!!!

hope you see the humour, no disrespect, sounds like bit like my aunty, and hope your CD comes out good!

-We will rock you-Queen (I'd say Bohemian Rhapsody but it's too long and little kids tend to prefer We will rock you).
-Under the sea-Sebastian from Little Mermaid (as someone mentioned before, coz it's great for the kids).
-Smoke on the water-Deep purple (for the legendary guitar sounds).
-Hotel California-The Eagles (just a brilliant song).
-Somewhere over the rainbow (there are millions of versions so just take your pick).

Sorry, can't think of any more at the mo...sounds like a great gift, good luck!

haaa i did something just like that for my kids 5 and 2
here are some of the songs i put on mine.....
rolling stones 'get off my cloud', 'satisfaction','start it up'
o'jays 'love train'
temptations 'build me up buttercup', 'can't help myself'
'lolly pop'
four tops 'duke of earl'
jerry lee lewis 'great balls of fire'
chuck berry 'take out the papers and the trash'
beach boys ...well just about any song will do
'do wa ditty'
something by the doors
and of course the beatles 'twist and shout' and most of the rest of their many many hits
etc....
it just really depends on music that their parents like or use to like...
i would put some of the greatest songs ever made on there...songs they SHOULD know
go to the Billboards site and look up the top 5 for every year from the passed 50 yrs...that should give you some great ideas
good luck
