Which ever way you can consistently remember to do it. I have always done it right after each load, because it's part of the laundry job. Also, when you vacuum the house, stop off at the dryer and get all the floor space as clean as possible. Use the crevice tool to get down in the lint catcher and catch what you can. There are some attachments through mail order that help even the oldest upright vacuum get stuff from under the dryer and out of the lint trap.

It's pretty much the same thing. If you clean it before each use, you are removing the lint from the last load so you can dry the current load. If you clean it after each use, you are just getting it ready for the next load to dry. In other words, make sure it's cleaned off when you want to dry a load. Whether you do it before or after each use, it doesn't matter. Each load ought to start out with a clean lint screen!! Hope this helps.

Before. You want the lint trap clean when you start to dry a load of laundry so air flow through it isn't impeded. Otherwise, things will take longer to dry, and the trap won't catch as much lint as it would if it were clean.

"Before each use" and "After each use" are essentially the same thing because the lint trap will always be clean the next time you turn on the dryer.

Clean it each time before you use the dryer. That will increase the warm air flow and dry your clothes faster while decreasing the amount of lint stuck to your clothes.

Either. I clean right after I dry so I won't forget. The thing is to get the lint out so it won't get heated and perhaps spontaneously combust.

No difference since both add up to cleaning it out before you use the dryer again.

Clean it after you use it so next person using it won't forget to clean it. Check before using it that it has been cleaned. Remember if it isn't clean it will run inefficiently and waste fuel and time.
