I have the same coloring as you. I like Clinique b/c I have sensitive skin and all of their products are dermatologically tested, so I know they won't irritate my skin. Clinique is more expensive than brands available at a drug-store, but there are a couple of things you shouldn't skimp on, like liquid foundation and eye shadows/liners. The cheapy versions of those just look, well, cheap. Affordable replicas of mascaras and lip glosses are easier to find. Also, a good toner (Clinique calls it "Clarifying Lotion") is really important--it will make sure that the makeup applies to your skin evenly and naturally.

Go to your local mall and make a trip to one of the makeup counters, or you can make an appointment ahead of time. You can even make a day out of it with one of your friends and go get your makeup done together. Places like MAC, Clinique, Prescriptives, etc. will do a makeover for you and figure out what colors and styles are best for you.

With fair skin (and an olive undertone) and brown eyes and brown hair, I tend to like earth tones for the day. Browns, khakis, and gold hues look best on me. But, if your skin is more pinkish, rather than olive, things like pinks and blues might look good on you.

What colors and makeup styles look best on you will also depend on your personality, hair, and clothing style--a really bold and daring person might be able to pull off a dark smoky eye during the day, but I tend to be more conservative with my makeup and my fashion, so it wouldn't look right on me.

The good thing about going to the makeup counters is that you can try out colors and see for yourself if they'll look good. Since you're in jr. high, I'd say stick to neutral, natural colors. Don't try to overdo it or you'll come off looking like you're playing dress up. I think skin is the most important thing to make sure comes off pretty. If you have good clear skin, a little bit of pressed powder, neutral or pink lip gloss, and clear mascara might be all you need to dress yourself up. If your skin isn't great, try a concealer (Clinique's "all about eyes" is great) to cover up any redness, blemishes, or dark circles (and make sure you blot it with the tip of your ring finger--don't rub) and then use a bit of liquid foundation all over, followed by pressed powder.

Good luck!

Start out REALLY natural. Like a shimmery eye shadow and lip gloss. Experiment with eyeliners (BROWN, BLACK IS FOR NIGHTIME) and try to start small at first. Once you get the hang of it, try something more drastic. Believe me, you'll love how you've mastered the art of make-up in high school, and you won't regret any huge make up trends. PS--the brands hardly matter, but CoverGirl is really good, and Maybeline Great Last mascara is fantastic.

OK I have the perfect look for you...

Eyes:
Try Clinique eyeshadow in "sugar sugar". Or colors like: plum, minty green or light Grey.

For a night out, try metallic shades of green or plum

Lips:
Pinkish Brown lipstick is the way to go for you, or if you are feeling natural try a clear lip gloss. Make sure your lips are not chaped though.

Mascara:
Always wear brown or clear mascara, but for a night out experiment with purple or green!

Hope this helps

I suggest the Burt's Bees line. They have a great tinted moisturizer that just even out your skin and gives a touch of color. Another benefit is that the ingredients are natural (the colors are created with minerals), so they are better for your skin.
~Try the medium color and the peach blush (they have a creme blush that rocks).
~Most important, get a gentle cleanser, toner, and moisturizer. Remember that it is better to accentuate than to cover up, so take good care of your skin and these items will just add that little blush you need to look like a natural beauty!

I think Bobbi Brown is great. She even has a book to help you get started with makeup and understanding what is right for you. I'm also in jr high and her book helped me a lot. Her products enhance your face and you still look perfectly natural.

Go to mac or clinique, these places will give you free help and a free color session where they do your make up if you buy a certain dollar amount of make up. These people are pros and can give you different looks and tell you what looks best on you, depending on what look you are going for. Mac is vibrant and very nice makeup, clinique is good for any skin.
