Because he thinks he's on an alien planet and he doesn't want the humans to discover who he really is.

Because wouldn't you want to have a living human that is the size of an action figure.

It's like when you're alone as contrast to when you're with your friends. When you're alone you have all of these crazy thoughts of how you really are, but when your friends get around, you end up acting typically. It's simply the expectation that seems to overpower what you'd like to think.

i think buzz's subconscious accepted that he was a toy, and the rest of him had to catch up

Because he was suppose to be a toy to them and if they knew he could talk they'd get scared and probably get rid of him.

If I remember, he didn't deny he was a toy...... He denied the fact that he couldn't fly.
