Wow, that rhymes! (Not on purpose, though). There's a
lot to be said for the use of Elizabethan (?) English.

I'm assuming that you don't mean me personally, but "you" in the generic sense. The answer to that is quite involved and the best rationale I have found is in a book by C.S. Lewis called "Mere Christianity"-----------Don't let the title put you off----it's totally applicable to all world views, religious and nonreligious alike. I ecommend it to you highly.
