Had an Interveiw and follow up on it and she said they haven't made a decision yet but the next day I received the post card and I was just wondering a good way to why I did not get the job that I was qualified for?

someone more qualified got the job

It could be a variety of factors. Possibilities include:

1) Some times there really are no openings, yet companies interview anyway. It just gives something for HR to do in the downtime.

2) They already chose their new employee, yet still had to interview the remaining candidates.

3) Many times the job goes to a friend of someone they know in the company, yet many public companies have to "interview" outside candidates so the process looks fair.

4) They thought you were too qualified, which would mean you would not be there long, and be smarter than them. Many managers would rather employ someone dumber than them, so that they look smarter.

If you were qualified and rejected, don't be upset - you wouldn't want to work with people that don't see clearly.

Just my two cents ... I am sure many will disagree with this answer, but just my thoughts.

Don't take an unsuccessful job interview as a personal hit.
Qualifications aren't the only thing that employers look for. There are many unrelated job factors that can influence a person's decision to hire you. You could have 'rubbed' him the wrong way, or perhaps didn't answer the questions sufficiently.

Dont be too discourage. Consider the interview as an experience a skill you will only get after doing several of them. My advice is keep going and you will get one eventually. Take note of what you said or answered to the questions, analyzed them for improvement. Be positive and keep going, you will get one eventually and probably beter than the one you applied for. Goodluck.

Instead of think about not getting the job (we've all been there) go ahead and look forward to the next interview. We all can't be the right person for every job. And you know what..I need to take my own advice! Good luck to you (and me too!)

Be more optimistic!! Not like you are not qualified. It is just that someone is more qualified than you.. Maybe someone is willing to take lower pay with the same qualification as you.

The probably already had someone in mind for the job, but went through the red tape of interviewing.

We've all been there.
