Hi!

Our's was a Mk1 Ford Escort!!

I lent my husband (then my boyfriend) £100 quid towards it. That was when £100 quid was REALLY worth £100 quid!!

When we were in it, if ever I saw someone I knew, I would duck down and hide! It was hideous! But it was our way of getting from A to B, and as we lived two bus rides from each other, to have our own set of 'wheels' was bliss!!

You've just reminded me, I never saw that £100 quid again!!

Thanks for that unexpected trip down Memory Lane!!

As you said ..... ahhh the good old days!!!

The first one I drove on a regular basis was a '55 Plymouth Belvedere. The first car I owned was a Toyota Corolla. '76, I think. That was a good little car.

Mine was a Vauxhall viva called Vincent! My husband had an Austin Allegro called 'barn door' as it had a front spoiler that meant it was more aero dynamic in reverse! Merry Christmas.xx

I learned how to drive on a 1958 Pontiac Bonneville that my Aunt left to me when she died ... It was a Convertible -- and although older than anything that any of my own peers were driving, it was MINE -- and I was proud of it.

Needless to say, I have fond memories of that car ... and those memories throughout the decades since ... well, they still are there.

A red Peugeot 309. They don't make them any more - it was a long time ago. It was a good, if unexciting car. We called it Percy the Peugeot.
