Y'know, it's all built to a standard, but I commute 25,000 miles a year and I've had a few windshields replaced in the last few years and I have a nasty suspicion that the replacements are less impact resistant than the OEM was. I've hit rocks of various sizes, a hub cap and even a high flying paint can, so I've had plenty of opportunity to observe the damage. Small stones that the OEM part shrugged off leave chips and little star cracks on the replacement. Next time it's OEM to check the observation.
