you can change the tailshaft on the trannt or you can shorten the driveshaft. I would shorten the drivshaft first, it involves no major work. Jus break out you tape measure and find a good welding shop to take it to length for you. It will cost around $50, balanced. So easy even a caveman can do it.

you have to completely disassemble the tranny to put the 6" tailshaft in the truck tranny, it is the first part that goes into the tranny case when asembling it

find or trade for a 6" tail one

Don't forget to have the speedo recalibrated if it's off. The speedo gear in the trans can be changed out to fix any misreading.

i own a repair shop,and yes you can,,you can either change the drive shaft,,or change the tail shafts on the transmission ,either way it will work good in it,,i have done a lot of them,,good luck i hope this help,s with it,,have a good x-mas.
