If you're looking at a Junior College or Community College then they may offer a general business administration degree, just so students have a piece of paper, but he/she would definately require more training to actually do a job, while like I said above accounting normally teaches the skills required to do the job. The previous poster is correct in that you will pick an emphasis in Business Admin and one of the emphasis is accounting. However, some schools do not require you to pick an emphasis, which is what I did. Therefore, I can say my major is Business Admin.

If you want to specifically work in the accounting industry, then definitely go for accounting. It will be a lot easier to find a job in the accounting industry because most require that you have an emphasis in accounting. Just a business admin degree is not good enough.

However, if you are not sure what you want to do, just stay with business administration, if your school allows that. That way, you can pick and choose which classes you want but it will be a little more difficult to get a job without an emphasis since you don't have a specified industry to enter.
