I want to know this, because there is a hawk out side of my house. I really want to know, I AM TERRIFIED OF THESE BEAUTIFUL CREATURES!

Hawks don't usually hurt people. They don't kill people. There are a few isolated stories of large predatory birds carrying off infants. I don't believe hawks fit that description.

I don't think it's possible. Hawks are big birds but not even close to the size of a person. I would say their max weight is about 5lbs.
That is not to say a hawk could not hurt if it attacked you. This is very unlikely unless the hawk is half of a breeding pair with a nest nearby. If you see two hawk tending or building a next close to the entrance to your house you may want to call a game Warden for advise. Again this is very unlikely.
Otherwise it is highly unlikely that the bird will ever approach you as is the case with most wild animals.

Hawks don't kill people, Chuck Norris does!!

Sorry, just a little light humor to lighten it up.

Seriously, Hawks can hurt you if they attack you, because they are dangerous wild animals evolved for killing. HOWEVER--Hawks have no reason to attack people since they are too big to kill easily and much too big to carry off.

Sorry to hear about your fear of them. You shouldn't be too scared, but remember that these are wild animals. Don't go trying to pet one!

Perhaps some time in the future you might get to see falconry, there are people who still do that sort of thing and you might be able to witness it if you loof around. Also you might be able to visit Hawks, falcons, or eagles at a zoo.

Good luck!

NO, of course not! Your fear is obviously making you rather irrational! Enjoy the hawk, maybe do some research on them, watch it's habits (from inside your house if that makes you feel safer) so that you will be more knowledgeable about their benefits to the ecosystem, and you may perhaps start to respect and enjoy them, and be less afraid of them.

There is no hawk that kills people as food, there is no reason for you to be scared of a bird of prey they kill things far smaller than us. Honestly do you really think that?? thats crazy...lol

I really don't think so. You are too big.
It is not likily that they would hurt you; but if your not sure, then you will need to ask someone.

I do not know what they behave like.
