Hello

I am not sure if this may work in all cases. If you are using Yahoo! web based Mail open the mail and click on Full Headers (bottom right). The IP address of the sender might be in one of the "Received:" fields of the header.

Use that IP here http://www.all-nettools.com/toolbox to do a Whois.

I think the full header option is available with most email clients as well as web based mails, so it must work on others too.

Hope this helps :)

Goto Mail Option -> General Preferences on Messages panel on Header option choose Show all headers on incoming messages. After that open an email and you'll see very long header with IP address of the sender and other information Its very hard to me to understand >_<

you won't be able to know unless you are using a private domain email because if you are using web based emails or outlook, such feature/function is not accessible. if you have an administrator privileges to an email site or like what i'm saying in my first sentence, then probably you will know your sender's location and ip address.

they are probably smart enough to send the message without that information. just delete it and forget it since the only thing the IP would show you is who the ISP is, not the exact person.
