What about a gift certificate to a favorite place of her's to eat? Or a gift certificate to a music store so she can buy more sheet music? Got another idea.....what about learning a song that she wanted you to learn and play it for her as a surprise?

Something easy and it looks nice too is "cookie in a jar". You can actually do a search on the web for just that and it will give you all kinds of ideas. The ingredients are layered in the jar and then you attach the recipe with a ribbon. It is a nice gift........easy and inexpensive.

Give her a Christmas themed mug with a little pack of hot chocolate or coffee, and a candy cane. Or get her and American Express gift card. That way she can buy whatvever she wants!

Yeah I agree with the first anwer- a nice piano ornament. And for her son, you can give him a giftcard to Toys R Us so he can pick out what he wants or a toy that you picked out.

maybe give her a book about music (piano) or a song that you want to learn how to play from her.
Life is like a piano...what you get out of it depends on how you play it.
