Being judgmental isn't exactly what most americans hide. They like to express themselves and let loose but its not only americans who do it. I mean everyone is judgemental but sometimes you just have to ignore what other ppl think and keep to yourself. You have friends already and even though its tough making new ones. Try and put yourself out there and make it possible for ppl to know you're just like them just from somewhere different.
Hope this helped you!

Sweetie. You should be who you are and how you are. You just got to give it a little try. If you wanna make friends, the secret is to be a friend. YES be a friend. Try to speak up and let people have a chance to see who you really are. Expess yourself! Show the world that you are the person you are. But remember to not go too far! Be who YOU are not someone else. Try finding someone who has the same interest as you. Dont hide yourself from others. For me, I used to have trouble making friends when I went to a new school. I was considered as the new kid and I'm not American. I am a shy person. I started to make friends by talking and getting into what everyone was talking about. I joined clubs. That helps me make more friends. I also asked for help and made friends. seriously. Just give it a try! ok? Trust me.

i have the same problem as you do when i was young, partially because i always changed schools and environment. to tackle this problem, i have really put in a lot of efforts.
1) force yourself to speak up and engage in conversations.
2) do your best at school/work, people will see you a competent and will want to be friends with you.
3) be humble, not arrogant or ignorant, so people will see you as a pleasant person and wish to be friends with you.
those are the basics. as for the americans judging business, you just have to do your best to be nothing but yourself, so they can't really judge you, and believe me, if you think that americans don't judge you more, you will feel more at ease. good luck with making friends!

I'm American and I'll have to agree with you when you say we judge people more.
I'll try to give you a few tips on makingg friends:
#1: Do not judge someone until you get to know them. Some of my friends are on crack or something, but I love them SO MUCH
#2: Be yourself. If you're not, then people will get tired of you because they can get what you have from other people.
#3: You can make friends on the internet, but i wouldn't reccomend it because it can be dangerous.
#4: If you decide to do internet relationships the myspacce.com usually works.I have family on it.My Space is really popular.
GOOD LUCK!!!!
LOVE,
tati
