What i'm sending out is about a pound..so the price for a shipping label 1.59....What if i don't want to buy a label and use five stamps instead? Can i do that? 39cent stamps x 5 = 1.95

You can use stamps to pay for any class of postage, but if any item weighs one pound or more, you MUST take it to the post office. This is an outdated rule, put in place way back when the Unabomber was active, but it is still enforced. You can still use stamps, but it MUST be carried to the post office unless the weight is under a pound.
