youtube.com is a place where people can upload videos for others to watch. It is a very good resource for a lot of amateur movies/films etc. Unfortunately it has been bought by Google so will become too commercial and rubbish so you have missed the boat on this one but check it out before Goggle destroy it.

YouTube is a video sharing website where you can post your own videos. It is kind of a video answer to Flickr (which is a site where users can post their own pictures.

You can post only videos that aren't copyrighted, or have copyrighted materials on them (though many seem to be getting away with it.) You can also embed your video into other places, such as a myspace page.
As for alternatives, there's nothing big right now. YouTube would be the only place to get the most views. However, they do have a lot of scheduled downtime, but that is probably due to the multitude of videos they get from their users.

a million. the strangest is even as i tried to look up somthing for the sims 3 and that "by no skill Gonna grant you with Up" music got here on. 2. that music that boy made "If I were a woman" that is going to have a %on the vid of a boy with a blonde wig. 3. A music suggested as " hi there Little Sparta"

you tube is a website where you could get videos of anything to put in e-mails,myspace,(familiar websites to myspace),or just to see videos you could also put videos of your own. or for example if you wanted to see a music video or anything pretty much you could see it there.
