No, it's not. It does vary from culture to culture, however. Generally speaking, more traditional cultures will find more body fat on a woman more attractive than more westernized cultures do, but even that is a generalization. And remember that 100 years ago or so, even Westerners and Europeans found a bit of plumpness attractive. The more recent appeal for thinner women has been influenced world-wide by the popularity of ultra-thin, ultra-tall females in commercials and other images of mass consumption.
To be honest, most men in Arab countries actually prefer thin, svelte women with little body fat, just as Westerners do. In fact, during several trips to Lebanon, I noted that most of the women there are actually thinner later into life and more self-conscious about their weight than Americans are.
On the other hand, Arab men do seem to appreciate the full bust of a belly dancer more than American men do. Perhaps it's safe to say that there is more than one image of female beauty even in the Middle East.

Try eating a little more healthy. Fruits and vegetables are pretty much your best friends when if comes to losing weight. Eating more fish helps too. No junk food. No McDonalds or Burger King. And when you eat bread, eat whole grain. Do houseworks whenever you can and walk to work to lose more calories. Read more:

My Dad liked my Mom (alot!) and she is tall and thin....So I guess that may put a hole in your theory.
Although he produced some meaty, pear shaped women... : )~
