I'm especially curious as to why they would use a photo of a skimpily dressed Victoria's Secret model or someone who is clearly not them. Not that I have anything against skimpily dressed Victoria's Secret models, or sexy women, either, for that matter. But why would someone try to pass off someone else's sexy picture as her own? I might be able to see that on myspace where it's mostly just your friends who see the picture, but on a public forum like this? I don't get it. What's the rationale?

some people want to hide behind a persona.
either because they are, or feel that they are deficient, or for nefarious reasons. some just want to be someone else. much like people who identify to much with tv/movie characters.

Well maybe these people are fat and ugly in real life. But on a public forum such as this they can create a persona that they like. A beautiful image, a cool nick name, and then they can be judged on the intelligence of their answers. It's probably a welcome break from their real lives. That would be my guess of the rationale.

it could be a self-image thing or knowing that majority of America goes for women with good looks and not for whats in their heart they try to sell what they know automatically what attracts people which are looks not theyre heart or their personality its all about image its similair to Hollywood knowone isnt going to buy you if you dont have sexual appeal or popularity.

They have their own reasons...we don't know. Maybe cus they don't like how they look themselves and they probably want to look like that model. Who knows. Just let em. As long as it's not x-rated or nude pictures.

Maybe they aren't comfortable being who they are or they think it looks cool.
