Jesus Christ lived His entire human life under the Roman empire, the first half under Caesar Augustus (Luke 2:1), who reigned when He was born in Bethlehem, the second half under Tiberius (Luke 3:1), when He still lived at Nazareth in Galilee, before moving to Capernaum on the shore of the Sea of Galilee, until His Crucifixion at Calvary in Jerusalem.

You do have you head pointed in the right direction, but not Augustus, christianity was invented after year 70CE (common era), and when it was starting up Titus was emperor, the 2nd of the three Flavian emperors. Vespasianus 1st, his son Titus 2nd and Domitian his 3rd son. There was another man who actually co-ruled with Titus and was with him when the Romans destroyed the temple in Jerusalem the year of 70CE. That other man was the chief writer of the NT, the inventor of the fictional Jesus, and the catholic church. In the Jewish books that person is mentioned various times by a few code names, and one is 'min' or 'the min', because the Jews of that time knew who was writing that NT fictional story, and they also knew 'the min' was involved with the Roman army and was one of the leaders who destroyed their temple and also killed and caused to be killed millions of Jews. Therefore, some people say that when christians worship Jesus they are actually worshiping Titus but that is because such persons have not gone deep enough into ancient history to fine 'the min' and the christians are really worshiping 'the min'. Watch for book, Piso Christ

Either Nero or Calligula - not sure. Recent descoveries of papyrus docs found in Egypt, suggest that Calligula bore the number 666 and not Nero, as was previously believed.
