The word shaman originated from a word in Siberia and eventually came to be applied to all medicine men and women of indigenous cultures who's practice includes the flight of the soul.

a combination of a spiritual leader and a physical doctor. one who is willing to offer his own body as a sacrifice to THE GREAT MYSTERY to obtain the necessary information to help his people. the medicine cure necessary may be obtained by the Shaman leaving the physical plane to visit the spiritual plane to gather the necessary information then bring it back to the physical realm.

A shaman is a cross between a spell caster, mage, or a magician, (or what ever you want to call it) and a warrior. I think Japan think that they were almighty overlords or something. Try looking it up in the Internet if you need more info. Good Luck on the project

a shaman is a name for a non-traditional religion type of "witch doctor" or natural medicine healer. it is the name used by many native american tribes and other indigenous tribes around the world for their own priests or healers.
