Best High School in or Near Homestead,Florida?
Movinf to Homestead. Florida..Son has to go to 12th grade there...
Would like to Know the Best and the Worst High School.

Suggest you find the $$ for a private school for the one year. M-Dade has a generally uneven public system (with a few good & magnet schools & lots of poor ones) & unfortunately Homestead & Southridge (the two H'sted area H-schools) are near the bottom.

I'd say your son is screwed, but it's only for 1 year. my kids were 3, 5 and 6 when I moved to so. fla. I got out when they were 10, 12 and 13. Enjoy the Florida Keys, it's nice being able to drive to Key West on the weekends!

Generally, from what I hear from both educators and former students - the school system in Florida S*CKS royally!!! I know two different people who went to school in different parts of Florida (one was in Ft. Myers area, the other in Orlando area) who both feel they were gypped educationally.

Do you look at greatschools.net? I heard Miami Palmetto is good..
