If you're serious about this, more information is needed. Talk about where he was last seen, or how old he is. The name alone doesn't help, since someone may know a Gareth Davies (or a Gareth) but not know his full name.
There are web sites out there that track down people using their name, Social Insurance number, credit cards and so on...they don't cost TOO much. You could also try hiring a private investigator if you have the money, but that will run you several hundred dollars at least.

There's a speedway club called 'Poole Pirates' in Poole in Dorset,try contacting their fan club,he may be a member as he is interested in speedway.

Salvation Army. I "lost" my brother in 1980 and the SA found him in 1990 after only searching for about 6 weeks!
They found his bank and we wrote to there and they passed the letter on thank God. He died in 1997 and I owe them so much for allowing me to spend those last 7 years with him.
Remember this when they come round the pub with the Watchtower and a collecting can please.
