There was a story on the news about this church's soup kitchen being shut down be the health department. It was not liscensed and did not meet the standards to be liscensed. The kitchen was imacculant, and the food prepared taking all sanitation precautions. In order to meet the codes it requires a $40,000 upgrade! A homeless man put it best when he said "The government is not worried about regulating the food we pick from dumpsters everyday. It is crazy that they would shut this place down when they are providing good home cooking to us out of the kindness of their hearts." What do you think?

I believe that was here in Pa. What a shame. I hope that city gets its act together and finds a suitable place to open the soup kitchen again. Bureaucracy at its best.

I know. My mom use to work at a school cafe where most of the kids were low income..The meals at the school were the only meals the kids got. Just about every day they would have food left over but they were NOT allowed to take it and donate it to a family in need or the local mission because it was GOVT. food so they threw it out..thousands of pounds a year..During the summer, on the weekends and at night some of those didn't eat much at all and they had to throw out all that food ..NEEDLESS waste..

the mind of humans exist on
different levels of the same order
of deciding laws, if one can truly
know themselves we can rid ourselves
of laws, we can free oneself from each
law of man, most laws of man keep
us in a subjective state, we need
to know our purpose and scale of relativity
of what ones purpose means between
our actions and the result of actions, if humans
were perfect we would just follow the cosmic
laws of nature, which means living under the laws
of accidents & cause & effect...
and what is just and unjust?
we are biological machines,
can a machine be truly just?
By being responsible and understanding that
the idea of what is unjust is a very narrow
understanding of the natural order of natures
patterns in life ......
Man is too confused to understand
between exception and creating a law
to rule his own kind .....

Wow, that does suck. I know of a place that was giving their food to the poor then someone got sick and sued, so now they just throw it out. Very sad.
