some times the antispyware or antivirus might delet some files of this program because it's a p2p prog. so it's gona open a new port
which the hackers can enter to your pc threw that port.
or the antivirus might just block the limewire fro getting connected to the net.
so the best solution is to disable your antivirus or there is list of safe prog. in every antivirus so you can add limewire to that list

limewire is spyware as well, id run Spybot S & D on it and clean it out before using again. I suggest bearshare, which is used by alot more people then limewire, and is quicker. But Bearshare too, is also spyware ridden. But one quick wipe with Spybot S & D, and say goodbye to those spybots!

To avoid accruing spy ware and RIAA subpoenas, immediately uninstall limewire, go to www.shareaza.com and install the shareaza client. It connects to the same sharing network as limewire (plus two others) and has configurable security options.

lol - limewire is spyware? lol ... I haven't had problems with spyware from it yet -

check the connections tab - to make sure you are connected in there - if not - try disconnect and then reconnect
you might want to upgrade it to the latest version and/or uninstall then reinstall the program

You may have a firewall blocking the downloads...depends on how you are connected to the internet. Dail-up maybe too slow to maintain the connection...Cable/DSL you may have a firewall setting in your router that needs to be modified to allow the downloads.

Really need more info to help you out.....

If your computer is not working properly while you are working on it, it could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software.
