You don't say what age she is. I have given all these books to my grandaughters to read. They are teen agers. I read them first and loved them. A movie was made of, A Walk to Remember. A movie for Christmas Box and also the Ann books.

U didn't give us an age group so I'm thinking she must be around 12
yrs. old"ish" I hope. These are all books with varied reading ages u might give a try. If she loves Harry Potter books she will certainly love The Hobbit and Complete Lord of the Rings Trilogy by J.R.R.
Tolkien. If u want to try and expand her reading topics this is an awesome fantasy I read that rates up in the five star reads: The Phantom Tollbooth by Norton Juster. Also any in The Borrowers series are all excellent fantasy reads about a young girl in case she really likes books that sway more towards a girl narrator. The
Borrowers is by author, Mary Norton. Each of these books should have preview writings if u go to Barnes and Nobles.com you can get a better feel for the content and age appropriateness. Best may just be to ask her..she may have her eyes on something she saw at school already.

there is a new Tamora Pierce series out. It's about George Cooper's parents. It's supposed to be really good. They're still in hardback, though. If you don't know who George Cooper is, he is Alanna the Lioness's husband and Aly's (Alianne) father. Your daughter will love them if she likes Tamora Pierce. If you don't have any Tortall books( lioness quartet, immortals, protector of the small, trickster) get those too

Depends on what you are interested in reading. Some good books to get that are new releases are, Culture Warrior by Bill O'Reilly; Rediscovering God in America by Newt Gingrich; On and Off the Field by Pat Summerall; Make the Rest of Your Life the Best of Your Life by Art Linkletter; and if you like books on the afterlife that are non-fiction read my book, When You Die You'll Come Alive. All these books are available through Amazon.com, Barnes and Noble, and Borders, Books and Music.

Goose Girl by Shannon Hale comes to mind. It is a novelization of the fairy tale 'the goose girl.' It is fantasy and a horse features prominently into it. It has adventure and romance. And if she enjoys it, she might like the companion novels Enna Burning and River Secrets.
Chronicles of Narnia, seven books in all, by C.S. Lewis might also be a good idea.

I really like the Norma Fox books, particularly "after the rain"
its a lovely story...
you could just go to Barnes and Noble and go to the teen section, and they have some really good books there, especially in the new arrivals, which is honestly just their fav books to put out
