Iran has a lot to do with Irak, they supply all the weapons and explosives the insurgents use against the people of Irak and our troops, Syria also has a lot to do with it, but regarding nuclear arms, you can rest assured that if Iran decides to use a nuclear bomb against us or Israel, hundreds of missiles with nuclear heads from our submarines are going to rain all over Iran..☺

Iran and Syria borders Iraq. Iran and Syria is mainly Shia just like Iraq. Sadam was a Sunni and Sunnis are the minority. The U.S. did not like Iran or Syria becuase they are considered to be rebels-- they can't be reigned in becuase they typically are religous states.

When we went into Iraq it was not to help the Sunnis or Shias but I really dont know why we went in. Now it has turned into this whole civil war which we were not prepared for nor were we expecting.

It has been said the Iran and Syria has been helping the insurgency with people and weapons. Syria also helps Hezbollah in Lebonan.

Iran now is attempting to build nuclear weapons an the US does not like that for the reason stated above-- they really cant control Iran as they can other nations.

Iran said they would help with Iraq, as did Syria, but that the US needs to leave. I think that is a good idea because we really made a mess and not to sure what more we can screw up.

Basically that is it in a nutshell. YOu can decide for yourself if Iran is just trying to help and that they should be left alone or if we need to go in and stop them.

I think we need a good president and a better foreign policy. Most of these countries dislike or really do not believe in Israel and we use that to stir up trouble. I think good communication and fairness in dealing with all should be #1. Sometimes people are not as bad as we think or make them out to be. Remember we helped Sadam and Osama in the beginning (Sadam against IRan and Osama against the RUssians).

One of the suggestions in the Iraq study group's just released report, was for Bush to have talks with Iran and Syria to enlist their help with the political process and security situation in Iraq. Bush refuses to speak to the Iranian president until he gives up his nuclear aspirations. The Iranian president will not talk to Bush until he pulls US troops entirely out of Iraq. The leader of Syria has been pretty quiet lately and I haven't heard what his demand or conditions would be to have talks with Bush about Iraq. General Abizaid has stated many times in interviews and in Congressional hearings that Iran and Syria are aiding and abetting the insurgency with arms and money. Let no one forget that Iran and Iraq fought a 9 year war that only ended because most if not all the military aged men had been killed off on both sides. Iran which is mostly Shia would love to see the Shi'ites rise to power in Iraq so that they could wield their influence through the Shia religious leaders. Most of the top Shia religious leaders in Iraq fled to Iran while Sadam was in power and are returning to Iraq to carve their piece of the power pie. The rest of Iraq's neighbor's are mostly Sunni so they don't want to see the Sunni minority in Iraq overtaken and silenced by the Shia majority. This is a power struggle between groups that have been at each other for centuries and sadly, I have no idea how it ever will be resolved.

It is crucial to middle east peace that Iran, Syria and Iraq come to an understanding with regard to diplomatic resolutions to there differences. However they see that western diplomacy is somehow being forced on them. The bottom line is that diplomacy is diplomacy and freedom is freedom. We dont have a corner on the market with regard to freedom. If Iraq can use Syria and Irans militia to help stabilize the insurgence in Iraq it will or at least should bring peace to the entire region. It would be believable in the eyes of the middle eastern people and the US would be able to leave without worry of a total rejection of freedom and diplomacy...Howard
