My girlfriend is allergic to most scents, so we have been using Purex Free and Clear, but in just a few months it has left almost all our clothes looking old, pilly, and dingey. I've had shirts for years that looked brand new, and now they look gross. Anyone know any scent free detergent that wont kill my colors??

Try Dreft, or the Arm and Hammer Scent free detergent.

I like Cheer and Woolite. Tide has a new detergent called "Total Care" which is supposed to prevent fading. I haven't tried it yet, though--it seems overpriced. Anyway, a few other tips... -Always use the gentle cycle -Always wash your clothes in cool/cold water -Always turn everything inside out, especially jeans -Adding a cup of vinegar along with the detergent will help prevent fading (doesn't smell the greatest, but the smell will go away when the clothes goes through the rinse cycle) -Never over-dry your clothes

I know my sis-in-law uses Gain on my nephew's clothes, and they have a scent free non-allergenic type, and Gain doesn't fade your clothes. I use Gain, but the scented variety, and my clothes hold up really well. She has some really nice designer clother, as do my brother and nephew. And they always look really nice. So it must work.

Try using Dreft, it is a laundry detergent made for new born babies. So it does not have all the extras that other detergents sometimes have.

ALL now makes a free and clear version, and i love it. it has no dyes or perfumes, which is also what i have to use for myself. It's also much less expensive than dreft. The bottle is white. Good luck....I hope it works for ya!
