My my my how times have changed... what ever happened to the good ol' fashion family sitcoms? I grew up watching family shows like The Brady Bunch, Full House and Family Matters. Carol Brady was my tv mom and I loved that show! Look how awesome I have turned out.. lol! These shows demonstrated good wholesome family values. What has happened to our traditional family values???? Then America wonder why there are so many divorces and infidelity. It is our responsibility to set a good example for future generations. Kids are growing up a lot faster today with all these high tech gadgets and don't get me started on the music we have these days. Everything you hear is about sex sex sex and more sex.. like that is so damn fascinating to sing about.. lol! You know what they say.. they don't make 'em like they used to anymore... what a shame!

I must have grown up in the same generation as you. I loved the Brady's! Still do thanks to DVD and Nick at night and TV Land. Things have changed so much and SOME of it has been good. I mean, without the PC would we be here talking? no.
I do not know about you, but I taught my son the same values I learned and he watches and listens to stuff that just annoys me to no end. But he isn't out there killing or robbing people or doing drugs. He knows the difference between right and wrong and knows that what he hears and sees these days isn't always right or good, and that is why we teach them the values we learned. Sex sells (whether or not our generation likes it.) I personally do not care how they advertise, I do not look at a commercial for a car and say, "Hey! That girl is sexy, I want the car!!!" I see the car and say, "Wow! Killer car! I want it!!" If you do not like the way they advertise, just ignore the elements you dislike or find insulting or whatever and focus on the parts that you do like! That's what I do!

Hollywood has lost that kind of sitcom. They don't care about family's much anymore. It seems they are more into fake blondes wearing nothing or anorexic women wearing nothing. In the end, it's someone wearing nothing. And it's always about sex. CBS had two good shows, Still Standing and Yes Dear. Good comedy, all about family. What did they do? They canceled it. I am sure they had enough fans but because the leading actors weren't to par with what the normal American fan is, they canceled the show. I miss those shows and how innocent it was. It was a show that children can watch with parents and feel "grown up". But now there aren't any shows out there anymore. If there is, it's canceled. It's sad.

America is bored with the average television show. Sitcoms and comedy is out and drama and reality is in.

If more sitcom shows and comedy types did come back you would probably find that they are cookie cutter shows of the past. Only because the people who made those shows taught the younger generation of people how to make the newer ones. This is sad though because like you I liked the nice sitcoms I used to love waiting for Friday nights and TGIF.

Eventually there will be more sitcoms hopefully with writers/creators who are very unique and ballzy that will make more kick butt sitcoms and comedies.
