try heating a towel and put to his stomach. this work for my son and the crying we tried the dryer. If you have a gentle washer or dryer put his seat on it and turn on he always went to sleep in about 30 minutes it sooths them. I will say a pray for you'll and Good Luck

Hang in there. Colic is one of the hardest things because they seem so miserable and in so much pain. The more you hold him and try to soothe him, even if it doesnt work, the more secure he will feel, and the more he will trust you.. This will be better in a few more weeks.

If he really is constipated, he may need different formula. Maybe just switching from powder to concentrate.. Keep talking to the doctor about it. Explain to your doctor why you think he is constipated. If you doctor tells you he is not constipated, ask how to know if a baby is constipated. Ask whatever questions you need to in order to feel like you are being heard. At the very least maybe your doctor can ease your worries.

Hmmm...my 4 week old son has been going through the same thing (different hours of crying, though). He's on Nestle Good Start Soy formula and has been constipated as well.

I would ask your doctor for advice on switching his formula, though. Sometimes it can make the problem worse as he's so little and his digestive system is still immature. If you get the ok from the doctor and think you should switch formula, i would definitely try it.

Poor Thing : ( I know how you feel, we had to switch formula several time before getting it right. Maybe try a soy one. Also some tips for soothing him: Place one drop of essential lavender oil [Usually can be found at any place that has aromatherapy] Rub hands together and place one hand one tummy and one on back Allow it to get warm, Rub tummy a little bit! This work wonders with my youngest on especially when constipated! Also try carrying him close to you using a pouches or sling...mine love this! The warm towel from the dryer and vibrating bouncer seat helps too! A lot of times to with colic it is being over simulated...try turning out lights and playing a soft lullaby. Hope one of these help, God Bless Below is link to show you the pouch I use...I made mine though!

Okay...my first born WAS THE WORST!!!! She had colic I swear 24 hours a day...she cried so hard that she popped a hernia and had to have surgery at 9 months old to fix the hole in her intestinal wall...She was ALLERGIC to her formula!! We had her on Isomil...found out...after about a month of SCREAMING...both HER AND MYSELF!! that she needed to be on SOY ~ try Prosobee! NOW...I started my last 3 children ON Prosobee FIRST...after dealing with Kel having so many issues~ My son, Adam..was even allergic to that!! SO the doctor suggested Nutramigen (at $35 a can!) Luckily...he wrote a prescription for it and WIC covered that...BUT I'd try to change the formula to a soy based and see...do it over a weekend and see if you notice a difference...then switch back ...I can almost guarentee that it's an allergy!

I would change his formula and see what that does. now about the colic try giving him a warm bath or putting a warm towel on his belly also you may even have to take him for a car ride.. also it may not be colic, it might be his belly if he is constipated. if you are constipated it hurts you doesn't it. also like i always say in all my awnsers. you take away the hunger by feeding him and you change his dirty diapers. he does not know what to do when he hurts becuase you are not taking that away..you might try a rectal thermometer it might give him pressure to push and it might clear him up. also the doctor is a licensed doctor and he may know alot of things but always remember he is not with them 24/7 you are and you know what is best for your child... good luck

My nephew did the same thing. He screamed consistantly. My sister finally got fed up with it and put him on Nestle Nan. She also had to give him Mylicon Drops. For the constipation, give him some sugar water it works great. Don't use karo like we have heard in the past because there are dangers to infants getting food poisoning. I had to put my little on Nutrimegen but its really expensive and Wic wants a prescription. These two brands are very similiar because our state won't issue wic to nutrimigen but they will use Nan instead, thats why she uses Nan.
