I really need something that will prevent entry by sliding a card between the handle and the wall.

You can buy a dead bolt lock, but you will need to be prepared to drill a hole in the door frame. Also, you can purchase a metal "guard" that fits over the vulnerable portion of the door--which is the doorknob, but you will need an electric screwdriver and some elbow grease. And remember, a lock is only as good as the door its attached to. If someone REALLY wants what's behind door #1, they'll just kick it in in the middle. And, the fancier the lock, the greater the curiosity is for the person wanting to get in to look at your "well-protected" stuff...♥♥♥

You can also get a chain for the door, which is easy to install. And there are alarms that are portable that will go off if you're inside and someone tries to get in. Those both work if you're afraid of someone coming in while you're there. But deadbolts work great, and they're easy to install, and they work whether you're there or not.

You can even just go to your local walmart or hardware door and buy small locks like what you would put on a storage shed. No major holes need to be drilled just a few screws.
