Okay, my monitor works if it isn't plugged into my computer! When it is plugged in to the computer nothing happens - it just stays black and the light goes from green to orange. What is up?

to help whever gave the other answer whe a monitor is un plugged from comp while in stand by. it occasionally throws up a "welcome screen kinda thing" back to the prob.if your getting 1 beep then the bios settings have changed somehow. if u have onboard graphic but are using agp the remove agp card and i think ull get a picture then..if uve only got on board then try an agp or pci card. if there is no beep then check that processor , and memory are seated correctly. if u have other memory try a swap.if u can rule out all this and still no pic. then ur mothers ****** . ...i mean ur motherboard. if there is a beep a very longshot would be a monitor fault but thats unlikely as u get the idle screen on it. inspect the lead that goes fgrom monitor into comp. your motherboard will be in my prayers

If it isn't plugged in, how do you know it's working? 8=]

The light going from green to orange means the monitor is not getting a signal. Are you sure it's connected into the correct port? Are you sure the computer itself is booting up?

What is the significance of the (2) in your title? Are you referring to a second monitor?
