i am a certified mechanic with over 20 years experience. a common problem with the contures is the light socket. pull the old bulb out and see if its melted. next make sure the pins are making good contact. you can use a pick and pull the tabs in the socket out to provide a better contact. and last, DO NOT touch the bulb with your fingers! the oil from your skin creates hot spots on the bulb and will cause premature failer.

Sounds like you have some type of wring issue, maybe a ground, that's causing the bulb to blow.
Check the wiring to the bulb, and once that's confirmed one way or another, then you can go from there.

A dirty socket will cause the bulb to overheat, or a loose socket will vibrate it to death.
