So when I right click my taskbar and go to toolbars, it brings down the menu. I go to "New Toolbar" and choose one I've maid that has all the links to sites I visit on the internet for quick access. It stays there and works fine, but when I restart, or shut down my computer it disappears. When I log back in it's no longer there, nor in the toolbar drop down menu, so everytime I log in I have to go to new toolbar, and browse for it again. Why does it do this, and how can I fix it?

It's a home computer. I am the administrator. I am the only one with a name on the computer at all. I think I get it now though. Would it be because when I shut my computer off I do it from the button on the front instead of the Shut Down button in the start menu?

is this a home computer or a networked computer? do you have admin rights? usually when settings do not save, it's because you don't have the rights to save them or if your computer is crashing sometime during the shutdown process when it's supposed to be saving your settings, that could also be a cause for this problem.

Your computer may be set so changes made are not permanent. You neglect to mention if this is a home PC, work PC, or home/work laptop. Also, if you are the primary user or have administrator rights.

Likely, the changes are not staying because your account is a limited account, or has been set to a mandatory profile.

Hi. It's a bit complicated but it has to do with what the computer finds in 'start.ini' . You would need to run 'msconfig' to see it and modify it, but learn about this first.
