No, downloading anything for free, unless the author allows it, is illegal. Some artists do allow it, and set up on there own sites their music for free, but for the most part, even if you buy a full version of a P2P program, what you download is illegal.

Limewire, Bearshare, Kazaa etc are all basically hosts... they don't have the music, they just connect you to people that do. Its like a smoke shop... if you get a bong from there, it is not their concern if you get busted using it to smoke weed LOL What you do with it is your business and your responsibility

Yes it is be lime wire is as file share network that means you recive the files from others computers you arenot stealing you are sharing . and they just want you to spend alot of money on the crap but no you can not get in trouble for sharing files in no way is it illegal

Just downloading wouldnt be illegal at all.
But as you are downloading you are automatically also offering what you downloaded which is like copying and therefore illegal
