Why or why not?

(Yes, I know you have to establish monarchy as a system of government to have actual royalty. I'm asking if you think they are trying to MODEL themselves in that manner, not actually become royalty.)

I think the media tried to portray them that way, but I don't exactly think the families themselves try to. Granted, the whole Camelot thing with the Kennedys was about as close as you could get...

I too have heard that the Kennedy's were considered "American Royalty". Some people even refer to the JFK days as "Camelot". When I hear that non-sense it makes me want to vomit.

I guess Ted Kennedy would be the heir-apparent. Although I have no idea what his title is. Clown Prince of Drunkenness?
