Recently I read a few stories about women being jailed for making false rape allegations. I'm aware of the fact that when a rape happens, the rapist's motive is more related to power and dominance over the victim, rather than lust, but what are the possible motives for a woman to make false allegations.

Firstly, RAPE is about lust. Without LUST there would be very little rape. A man cannot physically rape a woman without LUST. The underlying motives maybe control (?) and humiliation (?), but...the simple fact is that men are driven by their animal desire to F...! Secondly, Women are social animals.They are driven by their animal desire to gain control, climb the social ladder, and be the envy of all those around. Why? Because they are simply trying to find the best male mating specimen in order to guarantee the success and survival of their offspring!

Not sure but it could be a Ego Trip. Fantasy thinking it happened. Power over the male. Revenge.
Some People no matter whether Male or Female are just out and out lairs and will do anything to harm others....

High priority for their religious upbringing such as 'I wanted to do it with him' but it better call it rape because if not, I have sinned before the eyes of God. And my family and loved ones will call me a bad person'... this was actually sited to me many years ago concerning my friend's girlfriend's reasoning....he married her to stay out of jail and spent many miserable years in quiet married desperation.

Shame, guilt, revenge. It is sad because rape is such an ugly act and to act like something this terrible happened to you when it didn't...Rape is not a joke!

I would guess b/c its pretty much a fool-proof way to get back at someone (in a very big way... im not sure if all of them understand that) b/c no one is going to tell a woman she wasn't raped.

Because some women (like some men) are hateful creatures.
Because THEY want to abuse people, and they have NO compunction about using the law to do it...
Because they Don't Care about anything or anyone but themselves!

attention, revenge, hate, etc. attention to get people to pity them er soemthing. people do this alot and some people r just sick enough to bring it to that extreme. revenge, being dumped, cheated on, etc. hate b/c of those things. yeh.
