England is having problems right now with all the immigrants from Romania, Poland, etc. They open the gate to much and over 400,000 immigrants flooded to that country. Now there is almost 1,000,000 unemployed people. No country, not even America can absorb so many people without having trouble.
People who come eastern europe will have major problems adjusting to the west. Our mentality is totally different from the east. When I traveled to Ukraine I was in shock at how people do things.
Is America over-rated? No. I traveled to many countries. I lived in Ukraine, Germany and England. I like to pick up and move anywhere I want without anybody saying anything. Believe it or not, in some democratic countries you can't do it.

Sort of. The thing about the States though, is that there's a place or a niche for everyone to feel "at home" even if they are not originally from the US. The variety of people and beliefs is staggering. So, if you're not happy living in New York - just move to Boston and see if you are happier there. I have found Europe, the Caribbean and Canada to be beautiful places. Not perfect but I have enjoyed my visits there. To me, it sounds as if you are not quite comfortable in England yet. You may be a little homesick.

Yes. Every country has its flaws. America is supposedly "land of the free"...that's a joke. In my opinion, Canada is more "free".

Over rated in which way?
If you're looking for diversity, come on down.
Hope you realize that every place has its flaws.
I guess it depends on what you are seeking
and what you feel is important to you.
