i guess well, it has to be something we didn't have and then we achieved it right?
(i dont get why everyone always says wheel, i mean u can live without a wheel right? but i cant live without music or love/caring...)

The Wheel is the most common answer because without it, nothing mechanical could have hever been invented, and we'd still be walking or riding camels everywhere.
My top 3 are a little different though.
1. Recorded language- without it we would be subject to the creative history of a single generation
2. The condom- birth control without abstinance! Proof there is a god
3. Alcohol- often throughout history the only safe thing to drink, more often throughout history the only thing to drink to help get you drunk, which brings us back to #2.

Agricultural techniques, worldwide communications, and medical science to prolong a healthier longer life. Now if we could wave a magic wand and apply those achievements round the world to the poor, instead of bombing them or watching them starce, we would really accomplish something worthwhile for all humankind.

1. Electricity - self explanatory

2. Flight - the world is no longer large. You can get anywhere within hours. This changes how individuals, corporations, and even nations interact.

3. Refrigeration - think of how it changed our shopping & eating habits.
