Cliff was the hotest kid on the block in the 50``s and 60`s He helped to bring rock`n roll to the fore, at a time when the `adults` ran radio TV and recording. Had they been around in those days, Cliff would have been given an ASBO, he was really anti-establishment. He was very brave when he announced that he was a born again Christian, at that time religion had a decidedly back seat in society. He was handsome slim,well dressed and very like able and he made hit records and had a nice home and life, Now, fifty years later nothing seems to have changed for Cliff, he still has everything he always had. Jealousy is your answer. How many of the Radio 1 guys would like to think that when they are over sixty, they will look nearly as good as he dose? They are jealous, of his success his looks, his life. How do you know about his sex life? Did he tell you? I doubt very much that he has discussed his sex life with anyone. It is his business, no one elses.

There is not apparent reason for hating Cliff Richard. People say they hate him because it is fashionable to say that you hate him. And people do what they think is fashionable. Back in the early nineties, everyone in Britain hated Kylie Minogue - uuuh you had to hate her if you didn't want to make a fool of yourself. Now, of course, people have changed their opinion and find her fantastic - even when she sings EXACTLY the same stuff as 15 years ago. I quite like Cliff Richard. He does his own thing. He doesn't get trapped in the boring role of a mainstream family father with a wife who lives a luxury life at his expense. Dull, dull, dull. Cliff with a baby in his arm on the cover page of a women's magazine - that would make you shudder.

There are indeed a number of good maybe even great records.
She means nothing to me with Phil Everly
Suddenly with Oliva Newton John
I just don't have the heart
And The Shadows were great
However it is still perfectly fine to loathe Cliff Richard because he is just a patronising git.

Dint hate cliff Richard,and i think its dist gusting when people make jokes and fun about him.do you know that he has given so much money to charity,and done so many concerts to help others egg TEAR FUND which,i went to see ,and cliff is fantastic.

Maybe because he is out of date ( he was good in his day ) but now he is a religious and I think he pushes it too much,

I hated it when he urged people to buy his 'Millenium Prayer' just so he could say that he'd had number ones in every decade. Not "buy it 'cos it's good" (which it wasn't) but "buy it to make me fantastic" (which he isn't).
