No, it is not normal! Sometimes a bit of spotting at around 10 days after conception (before a pregnancy even shows up on a pregnancy test) can be normal, but any other bleeding during pregnancy needs to be checked out right away! Bleeding and cramping pains are both signs of a threatened miscarriage - so please contact your GP or NHS Direct 0845 4647 right away.

Ask your midwife to refer you to the Early Pregnancy Unit at your hospital. They can do an internal scan to see if they can detect the baby's heartbeat. Brown spotting is often harmless, but it can also be a sign of a missed miscarriage. Best get a scan to put your mind at rest.

Call your doctor. Although it is normal to feel slight cramping during pregnancy they should not be as bad as period cramps. Brown spotting usually means old blood from implantation and is usually harmless, but since you have cramping along with it be on the safe side and call.

Period pains are normal you will continue to have those for a while!

Some bleeding is ok if its brown. If it turns red go see your Dr.

im not a doctor and its really best to check with them but maybe i can reassure you. i fell pregant on the coil and for the first four months i lost blood that ranged form spotting to clots - however i gave birth to a beautifull healthy baby boy. i know its very scary just try and stay calm and look after you and your bump. good luck!!!!

as long as it is spotting and with no bad pain, it is normal. I had the same thing.
But still let your Dr knows.
