Cancers are great and awsome, should know I am one ;-). Yes we have a bit of a self centered side, but we use this to make our homes beautiful and awsome. We are the mothers of the zodiac, fathers if your male. Kids and home are most important. We are sensative and moody, we are as deep as the oceans and only allow those that we trust to swim in our depts, everyone else, shallow swim only. We are sensual in our relationships and move heaven and earth to make our mates happy. We tend to give all of ourselves in a relationship and get the marytar syndrom if we feel its not returned. We are faithful to the core and expect the same from our mates. We have a great buisness head and like I said everything is centered around our families. Cancers hate to be alone and often get depressed if left single too long. We like to have a mate around. We are funny as well as serious we adapt to new situations and are a great friend. Others see us as gullible and an easy mark, but often you scorn a cancer, you have scorned them for life and they do hold grudges, sorry its our nature. We internalize everything. And I'll agree with the first poster, yes, Cancerians are self-centered, but it's more self preservation than anything else. We worry a lot. We're very clingy. But we are loving, extremely (if not almost obsessively) loyal to the things that we love, we live in the past, most times we're fantastic cooks. We love to be home. Home is our sanctuary. We're also very emotional, and take everything personal. Our families and friends mean the world to us, sometimes our friend even become our extended family. We're easily the most complicated of all of the sun signs to understand. Some Cancers are really outgoing, others of us would rather just live in a shack in Antartica and be perfectly happy.

I'm not sure what Pluto not being considered a planet would have to do with anything about a Cancer. A Cancer is a Cancer no matter what. Just because Pluto was downgraded doesn't really mean anything. It's what Pluto symbolizes (regeneration, transformation, extremes) not what it is. The Moon isn't a planet, and that is the heavenly body that rules over Cancer, so ignore that post completely. A natal chart uses asteroids, planets, dwarf planets, any heavenly body it can that has an important meaning. Pluto rules Scorpio, at least for the time being, and Aquarius, that's not even related to Scorpio and Cancer. Aquarius is an Air sign. Pisces is the other water sign.

This depends now if the person is really a Cancer. With Pluto no longer a planet the person may actually be Scorpio or Aquarius. If, they are toward the start/end days. If, they within the center of the sign then they should still be Cancer.
What I would do is learn the characteristics of Cancer AND either Scorpio or Aquarius whichever they closer to. Then you may have a better understanding of the person. Thanks to our understanding of Pluto this helps us understand why some people show the characteristics of adjoining signs. Hope this helps.
